Today I was shopping at F.Gerald New, when I thought to myself...why do I ever go anywhere else????
In light of the recent fire at FGN it made me happy to see that you can't keep "a good family" down. The shop looks great and there were lots of great things.
A beautiful antique silver tea pot...screams Mom (engraved of course). Stackable Sapphire rings in pink, blue and white stones (white and yellow gold available).
Three stacked gold bracelets, that interlock. All those great DODO charms. The 4 leaf clover charm, (in silver and gold). Great monogram bags. And giant huge hoop diamond earrings...HINT HINT SANTA!!!!
Shopping locally helps to support our friend, our local families and bolsters our local economy. It's a win win! Shop locally this season.

MiH Jeans
Two great trouser style jeans. The Marrakesh is slightly higher in the waist while the Madrid sits lower. Both have nice lines and would be sleek and beautiful with very high Patten leather heals. MiH jeans are available at Barneys.

EQUUS was a great success. Thank you to Jackie Smart for all her hard work. Fiddler's Elbow looked beautiful and a good time was had by all.
More importantly though, what was everyone wearing????
Sherry Donovan looked awesome in a creme and black dress with AWESOME gold rope earrings, proving that you don't have to be an amazon to pull off larger than life accessories. You looked great Sherry!!!
Sara Pirtle had on a great black dress with a v-neck ruffle, from Windswept. She looked very refined and sheek with her sleek ponytail and little black dress.
A beautiful purple one shoulder number was worn by LB and went with the New Orleans theme perfectly.
I also like Jordan Ehman and Priscilla Millers refined black "pedal pusher" and tailored on top crisp white shirts and scarves. A relaxed and contemporary take on cocktail attire.

So a dear friend of mine asked me today...what do I wear. She did not mean for a big party or on a daily basis but rather as we are caught between seasons sweating away in our thigh boots or lurking around in forbidden white jeans. Well here is my theory, dress for the weather. If its hot wear less clothes, if its cold put more on. Most people with a great sense of style don't follow any rules of fashion except those they make for themselves. If u feel funny wearing it, you probably look funny wearing it.
For me my issue lies in dressing where I am rather than the time of year. Its a very different dress code say in Palm Beach than it is in Miami, although they are both probably at the same temp. For me I have a hard time switching from my beach summer clothes to my home summer clothes.
Any way I'd like to hear your thought on this issue. Feel free to weigh in.
