What began as a simple LIST of the most stylish, "wear it well" people in the Somerset Hills has morphed into a what to wear, where to shop, and how to put it together destination.

What to wear to your holiday party
Dress this look up with a nude leg and dress it down with an opaque black tight or with ankle boots and leg warmers.
To me this dress is the perfect day (add a leather jacket) to night (add a black pointy heel) dress.

Target madness
So I braved the crowds today at Target, as they unvieled their Missoni line. I'm sad to say but by the time I arrived at 9:30, almost all the clothes, house wears, and accessories were sold out. Apparently, the crowd was wrapped around the store before doors opened at 8. (Who knew how many Missoni fans lived around here?) I manged to grab a couple adorable outfits for my daughter and god child, a few accessories and some p.j.'s.
The best part of the day though was watching other wise normal, refined ladies turn into crazy, sociopaths. I watched a women crawl under a dressing room door to retrieve another's cast offs. I also watched someone buy a small fortune worth of Missoni post it notes?!?!(E-bay anyone?)
As the chaos swirled around me I found myself getting caught up in the wave of excitement. Suddenly I needed some Target Misssoni. I bought a carry on bag, even though I have a closet full, just because I found it misplaced in the car repair aisle before all the other crazy Target ladies did.
So as I was about to barter my young for the last Missoni plater, I had a thought. These people at Missoni and Target are brilliant! I don't even really wear Missoni, but my "carry on bag high" was making me feel like Lady GaGa.
Long story short, the inventory was great but the "scene" was priceless!

Tweens..not how u think.
I think I'll pass...
(Forever 21)
So I was out to dinner with some friends last night when the topic turned to fashion, and my friend Sheri Scordley (one of my top 10 most stylish ladies in the area) made enlightened us with a profound theory. Here it is, , as 30/40 something women we are the new tweens! We are too young to spend $1,000 and up on an Escada suit that will last forever, because we are still young enough to want to wear the latest trends.

Sure we each have our own sense of style, but we are at an age where we can wear some of the latest trends (i.e. leg warmers) yet we are old enough to pass some up and not have to embrace each new style whole healrtdly as it comes down the runway (i.e. the whole prairie home companion look that was so hot this fall, yeah no thanks, I pass). We are far past high school and no longer need to morf into one another for fear of not fitting in, yet Im not ready to abandon my clothing creativity for one specific look or outfit that cost so much it better last as long as I do.
So... here's the dilemma, where do we shop? I'm over the clothes you wear once and they fall apart, I'd rather spend a lot on a piece of jewelry that will last forever.
As my other very hip and fashionably gifted friend, Jen Weil said the other day "when u walk into Abecrombie and ask the girl how she can work there with the music so loud" does it mean u are probably too old to be shopping there???
After much consideration here are some of the labels we came up with last night as our favorites for now, Alice and Olivia, Calypso, J.Crew (if you are over 5'5), and sometimes Vince. Here are some others I love DVF, Club Monaco, Chloe and Theory.
I'd love to hear what u think. Do u agree that we are the new tween and where do u suggest we shop? Please weigh in.

The wedding
So the big day has come and gone, and everyone is talking about the dress.
I loved it, for Kate. It was demure with out being dowdy, young with out being flashy. It fit her persona and flattered her beautiful figure and tiny waist. I heard some talk about folks not liking the bust. I do agree it seemed a bit "pointy", but remember it was from the Alexander McQueen fashion house and I think that was where there signature "edge" came in.
My very favorite part, though was the hats. Why aren't we wearing hats here in America?
I like this one, on the top of this post, by Phillip Treacy.

Great Jewelry
These are timeless pieces and beautifully crafted. They go with everything and will never go out of style. I had the pleasure of buying some of Jordann's early pieces. Each time I wear them I get tons of complements. Jordann is on the verge of really BLOWING UP, so I urge you to check out her web site, while her prices are still reasonable. jordannjewelry.com/
